The grave of ALEXANDER ROBERT CRYER

Thanks to descendants of Emma Eliza Cryer (who became Emma Eliza Daws on marriage) we located and visited the grave of Alexander Robert Cryer (Neil's great grandfather) in Ramsgate and St Lawrence Cemetery (Section CC No. 559). Again thanks to Emma Eliza's descendants, the gravestone was cleaned and realigned for our visit. Interestingly the uncertainty of Alexander Robert's birth date remains ambiguous to the last, in that although his age was given as 90 on his death certificate, the tombstone shows it as 87. The full inscription reads:

In loving memory of ALEXANDER ROBERT CRYER
WHO FELL ASLEEP 10 FEB 1918 AGED 87 YEARS
Now in Christ risen from the dead
and become the firstfruits of them that slept. Corinthians 15 20
