The Vinegar works, off Tanner Street in Bermondsey, closed around the end of the last century after a 200 year long history, by which time it had become "Sarsons". Alexander Robert Cryer was the foreman/manager there for many years, certainly before 1864. He was still working there in 1901, at the age of 70, although no longer as the manager. The following pictures are courtesy of Southwark Local Studies Library. |
